MAXIM'S HOT 100 - THE TOP TEN

So who's on the coveted MAXIM'S HOT 100 LIST?! This year, I would like to give a shout out to many of my fellow Latinas who compromised most of the list. There were a lot of changes since last year, and basically a whole new TOP 10. SO CHECK OUT WHO MADE THE LIST!!!

10. JENNIFER LAWRENCE: this actress hit it big with her first role in the Oscar nominated movie Winter's Bone which she was also nominated in the Best Actress category. Catch her in another big movie hit The Hunger Games.

9. COBIE SMULDERS: this How I Met Your Mother star was a former model but pursued acting as a career instead. Catch her in the upcoming film The Avengers playing Maria Hill.

8. NATALIE PORTMAN: this was thee year for her...winning almost all major film achievement awards as Best Actress, engaged and now expecting a baby. Her career is full throttle right now.

7. ANNE HATHAWAY: what a crazy road this "Princess" has been on. Starring in big movies, and making her way to hosting the Academy Awards, she's bigger than ever and has no problem being nude.

6. BAR REFAELI: this infamous model is not only known for her romance with Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, but also for her work with children facing life-threatening illnesses as well as promoting a "greener world."

5. MILA KUNIS: who knew this child actress will be bigger than ever today. From her biggest hit to date Black Swan, Mila is on each casting's director wanted list. Catch her in the romantic comedy Friends With Benefits costarring Justin Timberlake.

4. CAMERON DIAZ: she is still America's Favorite Leading Lady, many still love her because of her bubbly personality and her ability to hang with the guys, especially leading man A-ROD.

3. KATY PERRY: from her recent marriage to funny man Russell Brand, Katy carved her own destiny with her innovative style and pushing the envelope hit songs. She's not afraid to cause controversy and turn heads at the same time; she embodies fearlessness.

2. OLIVIA MUNN: she has proven herself in a world of men with her knowledge of technical stuff and video games while still keeping her girly edge. She embodies the best of both worlds.

1. ROSIE HUNTINGTON WHITELEY: known as one of the infamous Victoria's Secret Angels, she caught Michael Bay's attention enough to replace Megan Fox in the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie. Look out for her as one of the breakout stars in 2011.

Alexander McQueen's fashion will live on forever. Case in point, his house was responsible for Princess Kate Middleton's wedding dress this past Friday. Of course the designer was Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who was his long term assistant and is currently the Creative Director for the fashion hause since his suicide last year...

Alexander McQueen was a great and innovative designer who was renown in London, but made his influence all the way to the U.S. He was always pushing the boundaries on his fashion designs and fashion shows, giving mixed reviews from critics, but nowadays regarded as GENIUS.

But was McQueen the obvious choice for Kate Middleton's dress? Though potential designers were also up for the running, Alexander McQueen seemed like the best choice. He has a history on regal designs that gave the hint of a potential big wedding dress opportunity in the future. At his apprenticeship at Savile Row early in his fashion career, his clients were Prince Charles and Mikhail Gorbachev!!!

COACHELLA CELEBRITY FASHION

Celebrities in the name of music and fashion threw on their best "not trying" looks at the Coachella Valley Music Festival this past weekend. One definite trend was BOHO CHIC.

Kanye West, the last performer of the festival rocked a woman's shirt from Celine's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. Not only did he make it masculine by opening up the shirt and pairing it with multiple gold chains and his own Nike sneaks.

Katy Perry wore a nude colored lace Dolce & Gabbana tiered dress with headband and gladiator sandals.

Rihanna wore a denim shorts with a black tank and military jacket along with a fedora.

Vanessa Hudgens wore a teal cropped top, a sheer black maxi full length skirt with many accessories.

Nicole Ritchie wore an animal print top with cutoff shorts and strappy black heels.

Kate Bosworth wore an American flag shirt with white shorts and tan sneakers.

These were just some of the many sightings of celebrities in their Coachella attire. One thing for certain is that music and fashion are interrelated in how we express ourselves. Boho chic is a trend that seems like it's going to stay around for quite some time, so invest in some great gladiator sandals, floral printed skirts, and colorful loose tops, staying on the tribal theme.

KANYE WEST ENDS COACHELLA 2011 WITH A BANG!!!

Coachella 2011 just happened this past weekend and boy did everyone seem to enjoy it...[[ I enjoyed seeing FB updates on it within my home :D ]]

Though I was initially supposed to go, who knew so many celebrities would turn out?! Some names included Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Adrian Grenier, Ashley Greene, Lea Michelle, Usher, Paris Hilton, Kate Bosworth (in the general section, not VIP), Vanessa Hudgens, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Ritchie...

This massive three day concert event held some of the biggest names in music! But besides the scorching temperatures and the day/after parties, it was the music that people were mostly talking about.

Kanye West was the final performer Sunday night where he performed a nearly two hour set! Kanye knew that Coachella was thee concert of the year saying, "When I was working on my ["Dark Fantasy"] album, I kept thinking that I couldn't wait to perform 'Power' at Coachella... This is the most important show to me since my mom passed." If you weren't able to catch his performance via YouTube last night, here's some videos you can check.

Kanye's performance was the perfect topping to the cake, closing a long weekend full of talented artists and performers. Since Coachella gets bigger and better each year, I can't wait to see what's in store in 2012!!!

ET IS RELEASED!

After being leaked early online a few days ago, the official video for ET is here to stay! ET = Extra-terrestrial takes an outer space trippy vibe where Katy Perry, initially being an alien is sent to earth.

The video had a dark side apparent in many Kanye West videos who is also on the track and video. His cameo had him rapping in a "space module" with a bottom grill and the usually black outfit, black glasses. Katy Perry took a turn away from her usual cute fashion style, and opted for crazy makeup with animalistic contact lenses and flowy dresses.

At the end of the video, Katy Perry lands on earth, portrayed as a land fill where she finds a robot. In seeing their similarities and a partner in her new life, she kisses the robot which then takes it's human form an an albino. This can signify the joint life of aliens and humans that conform to an identical race. What do you think this video signifies?!

Who says ladies can't hang with the guys? During red carpet events, men usually don suits BUT now the ladies are taking this attire to another level.

Lady suits are meant to flatter the womanly figure in a clean, crisp way. It's important to have the suit tailored well and have that one signature piece stand out to make the entire look unique.

When wearing a black pant suit, it's important to find a detail that is different than the average pant suit since black is the common color. Though you don't have to go too far with puffy shoulders like Rihanna, having a more structured shoulder area, and even pairing it with a shorter pant can show some edge and leg at the same time. Another alternative is having one fashion statement along with the pant suit. It can be a bold heel such as the glitter shoes Anne Hathaway paired with her suit, or a long necklace like Jennifer Aniston.

When wearing a white pant suit, don't over-do the look. Wearing all white can be too clean, but a subtle change in detail can make a great statement in itself. Something as simple as wearing a bold lipstick to off-set the blank white canvas is great such as Katy Perry. Or if you want to keep it very simple, just add some cute shirt/camisole/tank under your jacket like Mila Kunis.

A must do when wearing a pant suit is to put your hair up, what's best is a clean ponytail. Keep the hair soft and flowy to work opposite the fitted suit attire. Show off your confidence and beautiful face in a bold pank suit and work it better than your male counterparts!
