Earlier this year I profiled one of my favorite photographers Mikel Marton and his work with Will C. I first saw Mikel's work on East Village Boys and have loved it ever since. Will has continued to model and when I stumbled upon his MM Profile I came across some more shots from his shoot with Mikel that I had not seen before. Pic Series Of The Day: Santiago Peralta by Michael Rowe

If your a regular reader of FH you know I love model Santiago Peralta. I love the risks Santiago takes with his work and his relaxed approach to his work has created some wonderful collaborations with the photographers he has worked with.

One of those collaborations recently was with photographer Michael Rowe. I have enjoyed Rowe's work for awhile now but Rowe has not always gotten the attention he so richly deserves. Although Santiago certainly is often photographed in little or no clothes, Rowe has Peralta looking classy and amazingly hot, fully dressed for most of the shoot. I love Rowe's use of lighting for the loft shots, and his use of color with Peralta's wardrobe contrast beautifully with the background. Thank you Michael for sharing your work with FH's! Pic Series Of The Day: Drake by Matson Jones

DNA Online is currently having readers vote on Mate of The Year for 2009. There are some pretty big names up from the world of modeling, sports and the Internet. Some of my favorite guys like David Williams, Carlos Freire, Luke Gouldan and others are battling out to be the champ.

It was a hard choice but my vote had to go with the amazing Drake. 40 year old Drake has that real man look, not shaved and made up, just real, just hot! Drake is an ex navy sailor currently pursuing modeling and acting work in Los Angeles. This series of shots of Drake were taken by the talented Hollywood based photographer Matson Jones. Matson shots of Drake perfectly showcase his great look. The 4th shot down being my favorite. I encourage you all to head on over to DNA and give Drake a vote. You can get there HERE:

Photographer of the Day: Michael Angelo

I cannot tell you much about NY based photographer Michael Angelo (mr angelo) as he is hard to research. I can tell you that like another Michael Angelo, one without the a, this one is a true artist.

The first shot of Michael's that I saw was the one below. I was instantly drawn to the bananas. Not for the reasons you might think, or maybe exactly for the reason you might think. The vibrant yellow really is the center of the shot with the model almost serving as background. I knew I wanted to find out more about the photographer.



I was pleased to see this splash of color, often a piece of fruit, was a theme in much of Michael’s work. The detail in Michael's work is truly extraordinary and I was amazed at the level of excellence with composition, lighting and staging in shot after shot that I had the privilege to see and enjoy.

This series of shots touched a series of conflicting emotions in me. Sexy of course, but also a loneliness. It is also reminded me of the many science fiction movies where one man wakes up alone on the earth and how small we really are in the scheme of things.
