~Fabulously Free Giveaway~

OOoooh this GIVEAWAY is a good one!

The lovely Heather Evan Smith is giving a lucky winner a

***8x10 Photography Print of your choice***

(a $30 value!!!)

I just love her work.  Her soft, feminine and romantic perspective on everyday life is lovely!
She just opened up her Etsy the end of March, and I'm soooo glad I found her shop:-)

***Interview***

Me: "Where do you find your fabulous inspiration from?"

Heather: "I get my inspiration from so many places; from a song lyric or old movie to a interesting piece of clothing or jewelry. Inspiration is everywhere for me."

Me: "Give us 2 words to describe your personal style"

Heather: "retro & vintage, whether we are going way back to the early 20th century or to the mod 60s, I like my photos to have a old school quality, to take you back to another era in time."

(I can see that! Lovely work)

Me: "What are your 3 favorite places to shop?"

Heather:  "Etsy.com, Modcloth.com, anthropologie.com"

(A girl after my own heart)

Me:  "What influenced you opening your Etsy shop?"

Heather: ""For the past year I have gotten a lot of inquiries of people wondering if I did have an Etsy store. I had prints for sale at various places in town but Etsy allows people from all over the world to see and purchase my prints. It’s a great venue for artists."

(yup Etsy pretty much rocks!)

Me: "Tell us a little bit about your creative process?"

Heather"I have a notebook that I carry around with me (much like Larry David) and I jot down ideas. Sometimes a song lyric I hear in a store that I can interpret through a image or just full-blown concept that comes to me. That’s the easy part. The hard part is actually doing it. A good portion of the time the image turns out completely different than I intended, but better."

Me: "What do you want others to get out of your items/shop?"

Heather: "It is wonderful knowing that my vision is displayed in someone else’s home, yet they choose the location for it, the framing and their interpretation of the image. It takes on a whole new form and makes it complete. It is off the computer now and tangible, the final step you could say."

Me: "What is your favorite item in your shop, or your top-seller?"

Heather: "Cowgirl Princess" (seen above) "is the top seller in my shop. It was just one of those snapped moments that I was lucky enough to get. I was doing a kid shoot and taking a series of pictures of one of the girls in her tutu and cowgirl boots. After a few minutes she decided she had had enough. She stood up and bolted. I snapped a shot of her in that moment and it was the best of the whole shoot and my most popular."

(one of my faves! Great shot and love the pop of color!)

Me: "Along with your wonderful photos in your shop, what are some of your other creative outlets/hobbies?"

Heather: "Dance has been a big part of my life since I was little. I think that plays a part in some of the fluidity of the poses in my self-portraits."
