~We Adopted!!!~

Yup it's the best thing we've done together (besides getting married!)

Some of you may remember my blog post
"To Westie or Not to Westie?"

Wayyy back.  So we've been considering it for a while . . .

And now we did it!

Introducing . . .  Lu Lu!!!
She's the sweetest, most timid little thing.

Her story broke our hearts.
They think Lu Lu  is seven years old.
She was a puppy mill breeder, and treated very badly.  She ended up in a high kill shelter in California, and was saved by the amazing Oregon Dog Rescue.

When she got to Oregon Dog Rescue her skin was in bad condition, hair was all matted, and her teeth were rotten.

She had to get seven teeth pulled, her hair all shaved off, and a growth removed from her ear.

(Why am I getting all teary eyed writing this?!)
I can't even imagine how her life was, it totally shocks me how people can be so cruel to something sooo sweet?!

So this is why we had to rescue her.

We packed our 2 pups up (Toby and Capri) and set out for a 3 hour drive down to Portland.
Not knowing what would heppen.
Would they get along?
Would she like us?
How emotionally damaged is she?

When our little family got there and met her . . . things just clicked and seemed perfect.  Although she is not used to just being a dog, she truly is a huge blessing for us. She acts uper shy and cowers when we try to pick her up.

We're giving her crazy love all day every day (ok it's only been 1 so far, but we will!), without ignoring our other 2 westies.
(is this how it is with kids, treating them all fairly with time love and attention?)

I hope that she can forget all about her sad past and enjoy life
I know that she is a truly amazingly special dog and deserves to be treated so.

(grrrr stop crying! Lol)

Anywho I am soooo excited for this new chapter of our life.  My lovely blog readers will be seeing a lot more of her cute little toothless face:-)

And I hope that we continue to see more fire and life from her . . .
I know it's in there and will just take time:-)
