~Fabulously Free Giveaway: Tasteful Tatters~

Meet Emilee . . . the genius creator behind the
 Etsy shop Tasteful Tatters . . .

Where do you gather inspiration from?

"I get my inspiration from a lot of things – fashion, magazines, paintings, etc. Lately I’ve loved looking at color combos of interior design and creating a piece based off of that."

Give us 2 words to describe your personal style:
 simple.
 feminine.

What are your top 3 favorite shops/online stores?

anthropolgie (of course!)
modcloth
ruche

What was the BEST handmade gift that anyone has ever given you?

"For Christmas my sister made a photo frame to put a wedding photo in and she decoupage’d book pages from the Notebook – from one of the most romantic parts of the book. It meant so much and looked so cute!"

What influenced you opening your Etsy shop?

"I had moved to a new town, didn’t know a lot of people and quite my job. I needed to keep myself busy while using a creative outlet – out came Tasteful Tatters =)"

Tell us a little bit about your creative process

"I honestly get inspiration at the most in-opportune times! Haha, I started carrying around a notebook where I could jot down ideas or make a quick sketch. From there I play around with colors and my amazing assistant and I think about what colors sell best in my shop and what I just like. From there I just make individual parts of the overall piece and then experiment the best placement and/or structure. Then, I usually make a test piece and either I wear it or give it to a friend to almost do a “test run” haha only then does it go in the shop."

What do you want others to get out of your items/shop?

"I want girls to be able to find something that is so “them.” I love finding something that I feel like was made just for me and my taste. Women find confidence in how they appear. If you look good, you feel good. And sometimes all it takes is a white t-shirt and jeans, with just a pop of fun – like a tatter =).
I want women to feel confident in their beauty.'

What is your favorite item in your shop, or your top-seller?

"well, I LOVE my new bridal headbands “Rosebud” I seriously would wear that every day if I could. The top seller on Etsy for sure is the Countess Olenska necklace – which is another fav for me."

Besides your wonderful items in your shop, what are some of your other creative outlets/hobbies?

"I also started a branch of Tasteful Called Tasteful Treasures where I rent out vintage furniture/accessories for weddings, photoshoots, etc and I have SO much fun doing that as well – I love being a part of people’s special day."

Is there anything else that you would like to share with us about you or your fabulous creations?

"I put a lot of time and love into these little creations and I hope you love them as much as I do!"

~Fabulously Free Giveaway: Shop Odyssa!~

The artist and owner  of Shop Odyssa is Ahn . . . and she is so sweet and adorable!

Shop Odyssa has some uber cute laundry bags, or totes for everyday use.

Giselle Bag

Where do you gather inspiration from?
"I gather inspiration from vintage travel posters, my closet and my friends'

closets (the inspiration for a few of my shoe bag designs are take from my

best friend's shoe collection). I love vintage fashion and a lot of the

embroidered designs reflect that, like the "Francesca" lingerie bag. I find

Gwen Stefani inspiring; I love everything she does. The "Irie" shoe bag and

"Rockstar" laundry bags pay homage to her. I also have an obsession with

peacocks. I guess you could say my inspiration falls in line with the old

bridal adage "something borrowed, something blue, something old, and

 something new"."

Give us 2 words to describe your personal style:
Whimsical
Chic
"kingston - clean"
What are your top 3 favorite shops/online stores?
(I know it's not an Etsy shop, but I love it so!)

What was the BEST handmade gift that anyone has ever given you?

 "Drawings from my goddaughter"

Tell us a little bit about your creative process

"My inspiration comes in spurts. The muse of creativity visits me and I get
out my sketch pencils and pad of paper and sketch in a fury (my muse of
creativity happens to be very unpredictable so I have to "carpe diem" if you
know what I mean). I have no official art training so it usually takes me a
few sheets of paper (or the entire pad… errr :/ ) before I get the design
the way I want it."

What do you want others to get out of your items/shop?

"I want others to feel that sense of adventure and wonder that arrives with
the beginning of each journey. I want others to feel swept away with
possibility, serendipity and be inspired to see what's out there in the
world. I want people to be excited about and enjoy the journeys of their
lives whether it's a weekend girls getaway to wine country, a visit to see
Grandma or a trek through Southeast Asia."

I think Mark Twain conveys the feeling best when he wrote the following
 words:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you
didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away
from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.
 Discover.”

"Which may in turn be an eloquent way of saying the Nike slogan “Just Do It”."

"Lacy"
What is your favorite item in your shop, or your top-seller?
"Each lingerie bag is named after one of my best friends or a member in my
family. Each design reflects that person's personality. I couldn't pick a
favorite among them. However, I can tell you the top sellers are the
"Francesca" lingerie bag and the "Giselle" lingerie bag. I think that’s a
cute little case of serendipity because in real life, Francesca is my best
friend and Giselle is her daughter, my beloved goddaughter aka crayon artist
aka my personal guru of things handmade."

Besides your wonderful items in your shop, what are some of your other creative outlets/hobbies?

"I love reading and writing. I've always been a bookworm. I've recently
become a tad consumed with interior design mostly feng shui and the art of
decluttering… because, it truly is an art. I think Clean House and Hoarders
pretty much scared me into mastering that art."

~Fabulously Free Giveaway: Nikkisic~

Meet my new friend Nicole . . .
from
Happens to be crazy talented.

Once I saw her girly scarves I was hooked!
Each scarf is unique, she uses fun vintage fabric and turns it into a beautiful new item . . .

Let's hear from this super cute chic:

Where do you gather inspiration from?

"I gather a lot of my inspiration from the 1790's, I love all the lace, ruffles and bows as well as the colors."

Give us 2 words to describe your personal style:

Classic and Girlie

What are your top 3 favorite shops/online stores?

My top favorite shops are:

She makes the most beautiful flower headbands.

Best smelling soap ever as well as candles and perfume.

Beautiful knitted headbands, I'm in love with her swirl flower headbands.

What was the BEST handmade gift that anyone has ever given you?

"The best handmade gifts are those made by my two little boys."

What influenced you opening your Etsy shop?

"I was actually influenced by my really good friend who also has a etsy shop. She makes the most wonderful wedding favors (Megasmiles). It seemed like such a great way to get my line out there. I figured I needed to use my fashion education and this was a great place to start."

Tell us a little bit about your creative process

"My creative process consists of a lot of brainstorming, most of which happens when I am laying in bed at night (bedside notebook is a plus!) I experiment with a lot of different fabrics, mixing and matching, I love it!"

What do you want others to get out of your items/shop?

"I want everyone that wears my scarves to get that sense of
luxury and girlie-ness.
To feel pretty and done up with such little effort. If you don't feel like wearing a necklace, throw on one of my scarves. I have fabric choices for every season. Don't like the bows, I also do flowers."

What is your favorite item in your shop, or your top-seller?

"My favorite items are my lacy scarves, I love the delicate vintage vibe they give off. I incorporate vintage fabrics into most of my scarves which make them one of a kind. I also love my fleece scarves! They are my top seller!"

Besides your wonderful items in your shop, what are some of your other creative outlets/hobbies?

"Most of my day is dedicated to my little boys ages 4 and 3. They are a fun outlet!! On my time, which is during nap time and after 9pm, I love to sew. I'm always designing some sort of garment to wear, lately I've been working on gloves. I want to carry elegant gloves for special occasions.

When I'm not sewing I love to paint."

Is there anything else that you would like to share with us about you or your fabulous creations?

"I'm just thankful that I'm able to use the talents God gave me and its been such a blessing! I'm always creating something new,
This year I'm working hard to get my gloves, birdcage veils and bracelets out! Stay tuned!"

Ohhhh snap can't wait!

~Fabulously Free Giveaway . . . Icing 101~

Meet HannaH:
(and her son Jack. How cute!)
Hannah is the creater behind the shop

 Icing 101
Which is a recent favorite Etsy shop of mine!

Not only does she have an amazingly cute shop,
she also has many of her items featured on the huge site
"Style me Pretty" here

Let's get to know this talented lady:

~Inspiration~
"My inspiration comes literally from everywhere--nature, vintage finds/fashion, new and old movies, books or fairytales, and sometimes even just color combinations or materials."

"I was going to art school before I had my little boy and I have years of training in painting, drawing, and printmaking...nothing fashion related. I find it interesting that my fine art training really comes in handy, in a way I'm basically doing the same things only in fabric. I try to create a pleasing composition and just like in painting or any other type of art interesting combinations of texture, color, etc. create that."
creative process...

"A good portion of my living/dining room is set up with work stations and if I'm working on something new or have a lot of orders it can certainly look like a small hurricane has gone through! I have lists and tiny scraps of paper with sketches or even just words like "ruffle veil" to start as inspiration. Once I have an idea I gather a pile of possible materials and through trial and error come up with something that I like. These first pieces often cannot be altered so I need to make another one to tweek the design and make sure its exactly what I want."
what do you want others to get out of your shop...

"When someone purchases one of my pieces they are getting a part of me, my thoughts, my time and skill, that seems important in this increasingly disconnected world. So often people don't know where our food or things come from or the process it takes to make them. When you purchase something handmade, especially when you are interacting with that person it's just special to have something created for you. Most of my customers are brides and it's rewarding to share a small part of one of the most special days in someones life. I want my customers to feel special so I do what I can from process to packaging to try to make that happen."
Custom Order Wedded Bliss sash in YOUR colors

interests hobbies and anything else...

"I grew up on a farm with horses, chickens, donkeys, cats, and dogs--so I love animals. I also love old junk and come from a family of hoarders (not as bad as those shows on tv though). I'm a little bit like a crow, I love strange and shiny things and keep a hoard of them; I had an old jewerly box as a kid and it held an interesting array of rocks, oddities, foreign coins, and mostly broken vintage jewel bits. One of my favorite things to do is shopping at thrift stores; I often find fantastic vintage laces and things to use in my pieces. I seem to need open/wild spaces and just feel better when the ratio of concrete vs. wild things is far in favor of the wild things. I used to love to read (before my little boy came along!) and I also like to cook/bake whether it turns out edible or not."

She's super cute, right?!

And keep in mind yes . . . her items are catered towards brides,
but anyone can use some fun accesories right?!
