HAPPY 85TH BIRTHDAY MARILYN MONROE!!!

There is a reason why MARILYN MONROE is an icon amongst the ages. Besides her exceptional beauty and sex appeal, she was no doubtedly unforgettable and very wise. As an ode to Marilyn Monroe, on her 85th birthday if she was still here on earth [rest in peace], I would like to commemorate her legacy with her infamous quotes that can help provide inspiration to everyone. Enjoy.

"I believe everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."

"Keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."

"I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

"A wise girl kisses but doesn't love, listens but doesn't believe, and leaves before she is left."

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."

"If you're gonna be two-faced at least make one of them pretty."

"When it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm already better than them."

"It's better to be unhappy alone than unhappy with someone."

"We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets."

"Keep smiling, because life is a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."

"I live to succeed, not to please you or anyone else."

"Wanting to be someone else, is a waste of the person you are."

You Just Do You, Imma Do Me

~Oh Happy Happy Weekend!~

It's finally here . . .
And what a week it has been!!!
Weekend I am so very happy to see you.

I do not know what my deal was this week, I was all kinds of emotional.
Oh well, life goes on and it is amazing!
A few good things this week:
I got to be social with lunches, dinners, etc and it was so good to catch up!
(love you Bethany! Thanks for enjoying some yum drinks with me)

I suceeded in my RAOWK
(Random Acts of Wifey Kindness)
and went above and beyond each day to show my hubby that I love him just as much, if not more than when we first fell.
I will continue to try to find new ways to make Andy feel important and loved and not get stuck in a routine. Nope!

I hope you all have a weekend full of crazy love:

What are your plans?

Ours:
Wedding Dress shopping with my girl Melissa
Finishing crown moulding in my bathroom
Date night
Softball practice and drinks
Planting my veggie garden
Hanging out with my sister, mom and niece
etc.

Life is good, enjoy!

Psssst I am literally so obsessed with Pinterest right now
Do you Pin?! If so let me know I'd love to check out your loves.

~Good Lil' Wifey~

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had an amazing Easter weekend with family and friends galore:-)
We had a great weekend, will post pics soon!

I really wanted to start this week off with a small goal . . .
and I wanted to write it on my blog so that you all can hold me accountable
(love having all my blog friends!)

In life lately I've been a tid bit of a mess as of late . . . kind of organized choas.

Work
Starting my wedding planning (sooo fun p.s.)
Blogging (for 2 blogs)
Softball
Family
Friends
Hubby
Dogs
Church

The list goes on.

Yup.
Crazy.
With everything going on I am trying so hard to balance my life, but it's hard being spread so thin and being a perfectionist at the same time.

Andy and I have been married almost 3 years, and I have never been more in love than I am with this man right now.
My husband is the best (sorry guys! I win!)
Lol no but really he is amazing.

Sometimes I feel bad because I know he's there for me, and I get so passionate and excited about all these things going on in life that I (without meaning to) push him back to the back burner.

Bad wifey!
We still do everything together, have date nights, do sweet things for each other, etc. I just feel like instead of focusing on him and our relationship, I've been focusing on a whoel lot of
me. me. me.
I think after some time people just get too comfortable and in routines.
Time to break that because I do not want to be one of those couples.
Happens to easily to relationships.

This week my goal is to do something small and unexpected for him each day.
Random Acts of Wifey Kindness

(RAOWK!)

Sunday:
RAOWK #1:
We each have our un-officially assigned jobs around the house.
Mine: dishes, laundry, weeding the yard and gardening, etc
Andy's: waking up and taking the dogs out, feeding them, garbage and mowing the lawn, etc.

Although we have our jobs, we do help each other out and do most things together.
One thing that I reallllllly love that Andy does is wake up and take the dogs out.  I am not a horrible morning person, but I do not wake up singing like my hubby. Silly man.
I am so very grateful that he does this, but I know he gets tired of being the mommy to our 3 dogs sometimes.
Last night our little Lu Lu kept jumping off her bed . . . and that means 1 or 2 things:
throw up or pee on the carpet if we don't get her.
Instead of waiting for Andy to grab her, I took her outside a few times (they are still getting over an icky flu from last week) and let the man sleep.
Yes it's a small thing and may sound dumb to you all, but it's the little things right? :-)
(and he thanked me)

(I think it would be different if I was at home and he was working, then it'd be my responsibility.)

Other RAOWK ideas for the week:
*Wake up early and make him breakfast AND pack a nice lunch*
*Massage time (feet too!)*
*Play a game on the Xbox with him (not my fave but he loves it once in a while!)*
*Surprise date night out for some yummy food*
*Random sweet messages in his car, text, voicemail, card at work*
*Make his fave dinner without him expecting it*

Hmmm will have to think of more, 1 RAOWK a day for at least a week.
Hopefully it turns into a habit.
And I get over my selfish ways (eeek!)

I used to do more sweet random things when we were dating and just married . . . why have I let that trail off?
"Remember there's no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end."
~Scott Adams

What are some sweet RAOWK's that you have done for your hubby/bf?
I'd lovee some cute stories!

~Sweet Inspirations~

 Just a little something that I needed today . . .

Sometimes I get caught up in trying to please everyone.
Forgetting that I truly am the only one I need to please:-)
I'm just gonna be me!

Tunes for your Tuesday . . . Jack Johnson style

One of my favorite songs by Jack Johnson, so sweet!
So I know it's just the lyrics and not an actual video, but it's so cute I had to share:-)

Angel by Jack Johnson

For our wedding, my hubby made a cd of our fave love songs, and this was one of them . . . still makes me smile when I hear it!

So as most of my fabulous readers know,
we had our 2 year anniversary last week.
Last week I was asking you all for your relationship advice to share with all of us . . .
just curious to see what people say on how to "keep the fire" for years and years.
Although marriage is easy when you have a great "mate", I know it can take work at times.
Understanding
Sacrifice
Giving in
Saying Sorry
Sincerity
I wanted to share the fabulous thoughts that some of my readers shared,
and
please add your own lovey-dovey advice.

~Diana~ said: "We usually try to take a trip....and make it very special:)"

~Nikosmommy~ "Marriage isn't totally hard (in my opinion) but it does take extra effort during the tough times (when life gets tricky) and of course it's challenging after you have kids!! They (kids) can take over your world and you can forget who you are as part of a couple."

~Lila~ "Last anniversary my husband was working in Vegas. He flew me out there and had a box of chocolates on the hotel bed. Then he surprised me with an awesome dinner and took me to The Phantom of the Opera. It was romantic and lovely!"

~Aislinn~ "The key is to listen to each other and sometimes taking a walk in the middle of a fight cools everybody down. Also doing something small just because, is great!"

~Debby~ "My best advice... compromise and agree to disagree and laugh as much as you can!"

~Heather~ "Love and laughter and respect and appreciation seem to be some key ingredients."

~It's Simple Love~ "keep no secrets from each other! And be selfless"

~Marie~ "Communication and being the best of friends"

~Miss Caitlin S~ "we usually just cook together over wine with more kisses than usual"

~What great ideas and thoughts . . .Thank you all!!!~

I'll leave you with some thoughtful quotes about marriage . . .
"I love being married. It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life." ~Rita Rudner
(hee hee)

"Chains do not hold a marriage together.  It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years."  ~Simone Signoret

"Success in marriage does not come merely through finding the right mate, but through being the right mate."  ~Barnett R. Brickner

"A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person."  ~Mignon McLaughlin

"Don't smother each other.  No one can grow in shade."  ~Leo Buscaglia

Any more advice you'd like to share?
What makes your relationship work?
Happy Happy Tuesday . . . enjoy!

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."

~Henry David Thoreau

I love this quote!!!

Are you living the life you want?
Do you have unfulfilled dreams that you are casting aside?

Be the YOU that you are meant to be.
Don't wait for a better moment,
your moment is now!

Hope you all are having a great weekend

Totally diggin on this song right now . . .

"Beautiful Girls" by B.O.B

Speaking of beautiful girls . . .

Way back here I posted about Caitlin Crosby's website
And I'll do it again:-) Ha ha
It's a fabulous website on loving your "flaws".

Society puts so much pressure on being perfect, and it is evident through the
huge increase in plastic surgery.
The quest for perfection . . .
I say screw it, and love how God made you!!!

There are several celebs who looked wayyyy better before going under the knife:
Megan Fox- always gorgeous, but why do so much when you're already gorgeous??

Or Holly Madison- (ok she does look cute now)

~Moral: anyone can be plastic-pretty with the right moolah, but natural beauty is where it's at~

"Everyone has beauty, but not everyone sees it" ~Confucuis

"Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Be secure in who you are, rock your beauty, flaws and all!!!

***Disclaimer: I am not hating on plastic surgery, just the super fake look***

Happy Tuesday!!!!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!!!
(and to my new father-in-law, AND all the other dad's out there)

(Daddy-daughter dance at my wedding, love you dad!!!)

Dear Marc~

Dad.  I know I am all grown up, and we do not get see each other every day like we used to. BUT what you have taught me, and the life skills you have given me are with me every day.
Your love I carry with me each day.

Thank you for all you have taught me, with your words, actions, or just by being there for me.

"A father carries pictures where his money used to be." ~Author Unknown
(hee hee . . . isn't that the truth?!)

I know that we've had our difference over the years . . .and I don't know how we did it, but we made it through those CRAZY hormonal teenage years,
Phew!!!

But I cherish our time together. Our long phone conversations where we both to to dominate the conversation . . . yeah those too!
I think it's safe to say I got the chatty-ness from you:-)

"Dad, your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever." ~Author Unknown

Also, I want to thank you for working so hard to take care of us 6 kids at home!
Although we weren't financially rich, we had, and still have, an adundance of love.

"Sometimes the poorest man leaves his children the richest inheritance". ~Ruth E. Renkel

So yes . . . now I am all grown up, and have met and married an amazing man, you still will always be my one and only DADDY.
We may not see of talk as much as we used to, but when we do we just pick right back up where we left off.  Nothing will change.

Thank you for being a constant in my life.  We both make mistakes and i do not hold anything against you . . . I mean look how I turned out?! Lol

I know I can always count on you to be there when I need you, I always will have an ear to listen to me, a shoulder to lean in.  Thank you.

"I love my father as the stars - he's a bright shining example and a happy twinkling in my heart." ~Terri Guillemets

Remember when I was a little girl and I used to always just grab your hand?  I know your hand will always be there for me.  Love you!

So one day soon I will have some little children of my own, and I know that you will be there for them as well, gramps! They will hold your hand just as I did, and I know you will love them just as if they were your own.

"Old as she was, she still missed her daddy sometimes." ~Gloria Naylor

No matter what, you will always be my Daddy and I will always love you.
~your fave daughter . . . lol~
Also I'd like to send a shout out to my other Father
Wolfgang!
Thank you for welcoming me into your family!  For calling me daughter.
I feel like I've always belonged.
Also, thank you for raising the perfect man for me.  You've given him so many great qualities, thanks for raising the man of my dreams dad!

~Let's Talk Friendship~

First off . . .
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
I hope you all have some fabulous fun things planned for your weekend:-)
If so do share, I'd love to hear allll about it.

Our weekend:
*Installing our new hardwood floor in my new craft room*
*Gardening and getting yard ready for:*
*Graduation bbq at our house for my bro in law!*
*Our first softball game of the season, woot woot*
*Date night- HH style*
*Crafts*
Gonna be a busy one:-)
Anywho on to what's been on my mind as of late:

~Friendship~

"I believe that friends are quiet angels who sit on our shoulders and lift our wings when we forget how to fly." ~Unknown

Sooo when I go on vaca I always analyze my life
(over-analyze! I'm a head case lol)

I just know that as we get older, life gets busier for some odd reason!
(Or we just do it to ourselves)
Before getting married, I had all the time in the world for friends.
I spent all my time with them, and had a blast!
THEN when I met Andy, everything changed.
Now HE is my everything.  I'm the happiest I've ever been.
He IS my bestie!
(see?! Lol)

When we first met we spent every minute together
(I'm sure making everyone else sick ha ha)
I have realized it is no longer just about me,
it's US
but sometimes other's don't understand this.

I have tried to balance my marriage/family/friends
but it's hard because I want to give my all to everyone, and let them ALL know how important they are to me.
Where's the time for that?!
(Anyone know- please share your secrets!)

Also, over the years and through different situations/experiences . . .
you get to see people's true colors.

And I'm starting to realize it's not HOW MANY friendships I have,
but it's QUALITY friendships that count.

Although i love everyone, I think I want to invest more time in a few good friendships than a bunch of surface ones.
This may be selfish?
But I'm all about not half-arsing and being real and genuine.

Life's too short for friendships that are:
 One-sided
Stressful
Too demanding
One of guilt
Fake

I want a few Best friends who:
are Trustworthy
Sincere
There for me no matter what
Will stick up for me
Act'a'fool with me
Share similar interests
Recipricate friendship equally

Do you feel me on this? :-)

So I am determined to be a
***better friend to my TRUE friends***

"Don't pity the girl with one true friend. Envy her. Pity the girl with just a thousand acquaintances."

~Katie Obenchain

So I encourage you all this weekend to really let your true besties
know how much they mean to you:

*Send a "just because" card to one of your best buds*
*Plan a night in just with one of your girls*
*Send a sweet message to one of your special friends telling her what she means to you*
*Go get a cute lil gift for a friend b/c it made you think of her*
*Call up one you haven't spoken to in a while*
*Send flowers just cause*

Whatever you do, express how important they are to you!

Have a fabulous Weekend my Blog Friends!!!
~Tamara Nicole~

"Sometimes in life, you find a special friend. Someone who changes your life just by being a part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop. Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is forever friendship. When you're down and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full. Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, the sad times and the confused times. If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on. Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be okay. And if you find such a friend, you feel happy and complete because you need not worry. You have a forever friend, and forever has no end."
