~Give Thanks~

With Thanksgiving tomorrow . . .
and me being stuck at home . . .
(due to snow, ice and . . . more on the second reason below)
I find myself contemplating my life.

I wasn't sure if I was going to share this, but I want to:-)
As you all know from my pics on the blog . . .am a red head, so with that comes pale skin and freckles.

Also comes senstitivity to the sun.
So growing up I didn't really think about sunscreen and taking care of my skin.
I just wanted to play outside as a child.
Then as a teen I just wanted some color on my skin like everyone else.

So my disregard for sunscreen has given me some bad sunburns over the years.
And I am sure tanning beds haven't helped either.

So when I met my hubby, he encouraged me to go get my moles checked out.

Since then I have had 4 moles removed, of which 2 have been "bad".
(At least we caught them early)
So the 2 "bad ones" I had to get re-cut to make sure all of the cells affected were gone.  One was basal cell carcinoma.  But all is well and it's gone.  That was last year.

This year I had one removed on my lower back, actually just 2 weeks ago.
When the doctor called last week I was kind of shocked, this one turned out to be Melanoma Insitu.
(1st stage of melanoma)
So yet again, I had to get more removed to make sure it was gone.
My dermatologist suggestion I go see a plastic surgeon since it was on my back, I scar easily, and it's right above my spine. This one is a lot larger than the other ones.

I had an appointment yesterday to get it removed, with the crazy snow Monday we were stranded home not being able to drive.

So we actually walked 6 miles there, and 6 miles back.
Crazy! Lol but we stopped for a nice bite of lunch and a warm coffee.
I was still numb so didn't feel a thing.

Anwho I am chillin' at home now, and will for the rest of the week.
(Thanks hubby for my early Christmas present, my Kindle! Love it!)

The pass to get to my mom's is not looking good for tomorrow, so we are going to most likely postpone our Thanksgiving for another day soon.
The In-laws are going to bring Thanksgiving to us, so I don't have to try to cook at all.
(Sweet!)

I have some nice scars on my back now, but you'd never know.

Despite this "fun", I am super grateful for so many things in my life!

"My Thanks List"

My health for sure!

My amazing hubby, seriously he surprises me each and every day.

My family, which keeps getting bigger every year!

The in-laws who have adopted me as their own daughter.

Our new adopted dog Lu Lu.  I think she gives us more than we give her with her new home.  She's the cutest little thing ever and I am so glad we found her!

My 3 little adorable Westies that bring so much joy and laughter to my life

My super amazing friends, who are always there for me even though we don't see each other as often as we used to.  Love you guys!

My job. 10 years with great people!

Creativity. I love that I can have fun and create, and actually get paid for it. Sweet!

Our home.  We have so much fun updating it and our little projects bring us closer together.

Literature and the written word.  I love to read and expand my thinking.

I'm not gonna lie, I am grateful for some cute boots and a warm jacket!

Good food, but even better when enjoyed with great people by my side.

Warm coffee

HGTV :-) he he I'm addicted!

Sweet messages (text, voice, or on FB! They make me happy!)

And of course, I am so grateful for God and what he does for me every day!

The list could go on and on.
I am super grateful for a great life, and couldn't imagine it any other way.

This Thanksgiving, what are you thankful for?
Any big fun plans in the works?

I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving with family and friends.
We each are truly blessed in different ways.
Although sometimes life may not be perfect, there are soooo many things to be grateful for.  Focus on these things and be happy!

Awww Lovely Monday Monday!!!

I just want to forworn you now . . .
this post will be sunshine and rainbows . . .

major cheese!
Lol

Because . . .

I just got back from an amazing hour of heaven!

Ok so it was a facial at the Salish Lodge and Spa, but pretty close to being in heaven b/c it was FABULOUS!
I feel sooo energized and ready to conquer the world.
See what a little pampering can do?!

(Hubby's not too happy about the cost of afore-mentioned heaven)

How could this view not
add to the wonderful-ness?!

I just love living out here!

Anywho now on to my

***A quick hello and goodbye from my bro in law***

(The boys: Ted and my hubster)

Ted (bro in law) visited us this weekend ALL THE WAY FROM Luxembourg!!!

It was soooo good to see him! We haven't seen him since our wedding, 18 months ago!

So we ate, ate and ate some more all weekend.  Luckily I gained no weight, wooo hoo! Lol

Friday night we went to Andy's parents for a gourmet dinner ala his mom.  We laughed so much we cried, and lost track of time.  Didn't leave until 10 p.m. but had a blast!!!

Saturday eve we went to Elliot's Oyster House.  Another fun night of eating, and mmmmm their Pier Margarita is yum yum yum!

Sunday we went to take him to the airport and went to our fave bakery Bakery Nouveau.  OMG.
Their twice baked chocolate croissant. Another piece of heaven.
Every time we go there there is a line outside the door, never fail! AND they have won many awards.  Soooo if you're ever in Seattle seriously worth checking out.
Anywho it was sooo good to see him, and we leave in
~48 days~
but who's counting?! Get to finally meet my niece and nephew and trvel around Europe, woo hoo!

***Friend's Birthday***
 Happy belated 30th Chris!!!
Went out and hit the town

(kinda dorky kissy face?!)

***Life's a walk in the park***
Ok so ya'll know we don't have babies yet . . . so our 2 lil Westies are our children! We LURVE to take them on walks esp.  when the weather's super nice:-)

Here's some pics from our walk around the Bellevue Blueberry Farm and Larson Lake from Sat morning, after our trip to McDonald's for the dogs

 1) cheaper 2) Less calories and 3) actually good!!!)

Hope you all have a FANTABULOUS Monday!!!!

~Ode to Lovely Friday~

I am sooo very very glad you have arrived yet again.
I look forward to you every week with anticipation and excitement.
Thanks for always being there for me Fridays!!!!

A HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAY to you all!
I hope you all have some good times planned for your weekend, as well as some sweet much-needed and deserved relaxing time:-)

I have been looking forward to today for a while
. . . Yeah . . .
so what if I only work 4 days a week, I work hard and long hours:-)
Today was a bonus day off and MUCH much needed!

The sun is shining brightly outside, and seriously there is a bird chirping right outside my window. AND I'm getting a lot done with my lil side business today
(which is much needed too lol).

~Updates~
I thought I would throw in some updates from former blog posts.  I know I can be all over the place and start a million projects at once! Ha ha my hubby teases me all the time about this.  It's because I want to do EVERYTHING and get so excited about things.

Silly silly girl I am:-)

So you guys inspire me to keep it all going!  Some of you lovely ladies have commented on these topics and it's only fair to my readers to keep it up:-)
(Thanks to all of my followers you guys ROCK!!!)

I wasn't trying to just lose pounds, that's not important to me.  What I wanted to do was once and for all get rid of the Muffin Top that I've been carrying and hiding for ever it seems like:-) AND just get toned and develope great healthy habits.

Update: I have been hitting the gym FOUR TIMES a week (applause)
and am feeling fantabulous.  Also I try to get in small ab workouts every night. I've lost my holiday weight finally, BUT only like 1/4 inch out of the 2 inches I want to lose of my belly.  It's a process right? My problemo: SUGAR!
It's evil and addicting and I crave sweets like you wouldn't believe :-) I'm keeping on strong though, and will keep you guys posted (soon with some fabulous side ab workouts I've picked up! Also a great detox plan that helped me lose my icky added weight before)

To help and inspire me: any tips from you ladies????

I have snagged a few random items:
