~Euopean Vacation Day #6: Pisa~

European Vaca . . . Day #6 Pisa, Italy!
Still playing catch up from posting our vacation from May 2010 . . . it's about time right?!
If you missed them, Days: 1,2,3,4,5

If any of you have been to Pisa . . . you know it's pretty much just a small little courtyard with a few buildings . . . one being the famous leaning tower.

If you come here, you stay for like an hour, take way too many pictures and then off to the next spot!

BUT the pics are worth it . . .
Here's us being dorky by the famous
Leaning Tower of Pisa:

One "must do" here is take like 100 pics of you pushing or holding up the tower.
Seriously like 100 people were all doing this at once, kind of funny.

Yup and another one!

Had enough yet? :-)

I have a big obsession with huge European doors, loved this one!

And that's Pisa in a nut shell!

Missed our Days 1,2,3,4,5?
Catch up! Hee hee

AMERICAN IDOL BRINGS BACK THE KING OF POP!

Well not really...

The American Idol contestants honored icon Elton John by performing his vast array of songs. All the competitors did great, taking each song and making it their own.

But what really caused controversy was a comment said after the performance by James Durbin. After putting on a great and surreal performance with a flaming piano singing his rendition of "Saturday's Alright for Fighting."

After the positive reaction from the audience and the judges, James commented, "I have a lot of hairspray in my hair to keep it up...So, the one thing that I was worried about was having a Pepsi moment." [[Note: In reference to the flaming piano and his hair not catching fire]] To save the embarrassing moment, Ryan Seacrest wittingly mentions that American Idol is sponsored by Coca-Cola, not Pepsi. Then the show went straight to a commercial break with none other than...A COCA-COLA ADVERTISEMENT!!! I knew I caught the "joke"...

Check it out here:

But the family of the great Michael Jackson took offense to this comment. If you don't know what I'm talking about it's okay, I will explain. In 1984, Michael Jackson was filming a really big commercial for Pepsi when pyrotechnics accidentally made his hair catch on fire which left him with second-degree burns on his scalp! This unfortunate incident "started" one of Michael Jackson's many plastic surgeries.

Mr. Joe Jackson's rep commented, "Mr. Jackson doesn't think the American Idol contestant meant any harm by his comment, but the [Pepsi] incident is nothing to take lightly...The main concern right now is to find out who was responsible for Michael's death."

Let's see tonight if James Durbin will be eliminated for his mishap. I don't think he personally made this statement on purpose, it was a little hiccup. Don't forget that he does have both Tourette syndrome and Asperger syndrome, though it's hardly noticeable. James Durbin has a great voice and performance aesthetic that goes back to the classic rock days and I believe he can really make it far in this competition. Hopefully this little mistake on his part won't hurt him in the voting aspect...

Catch the results tonight on FOX at 8PM where 2 contestants will be eliminated this week!

HAS ABC7 ALREADY FORGIVEN CHRIS BROWN'S GMA OUTBURST FROM LAST WEEK?!

It seems like only yesterday that Chris Brown created controversy after his much anticipated interview with Good Morning America last week. Not only did he smash the window with a chair from his dressing room, but he left the building without a shirt and without finishing the online segment of the interview.

But it seems ABC7 has put the past quickly behind them and has permitted Chris Brown to still perform in the first results show for Dancing With the Stars. But some people associated with the show were not too thrilled with this decision...

Cheryl Burke, a professional dancer on the show, came out recently to being a victim of abuse. She believes ABC7 is sending a message that reckless behavior is okay and quickly forgotten. Cheryl said, "As a victim of domestic violence, I don't agree with him coming on the show, but it's out of my control."

Host of Dancing with the Stars Tom Bergeron wasn't too thrilled either. Being a person responsible for the interviews along with Brooke Burke, he said to Ryan Seacrest on the radio, “I did tell the producers it may be to their advantage to not have me interview him because my natural tendency would be to say something...Don’t put me in a position where you are asking me to not say something, because I really won’t do that.”

Though the media is very forgiving, I think it's too soon for Chris Brown to be given the "OK" as if nothing has happened. ABC7, a family network is encouraging abusive, ill-tempered behavior by permitting Chris Brown to perform on a family show. Though his performance was AMAZING, certain people (like me) aren't that easy in forgetting unnecessary temper tantrums. Watching the performance, I was actually thinking how much further Chris Brown would've been in his career if it wasn't for the Rihanna incident. This kid truly has so much talent, but if he doesn't get his act together, his departure into further positive recognition will be a tough road...SAD BUT TRUE.

Check out his performances here:

~European Vaca Day #5~

For those of you who have been following me this past year . . .
may remember our Europe vacation pics from last year.
Ok so . . . it's been 10 months already since we went . . .
and I'm finally getting to post the pics again. . . . slacker!

It just takes a while to sift through our 5,000 pics from our trip, and I need to finish this before we leave again in June and take thousands more.

So to update you:
Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4 have all been in Rome

(Long story short: ash cloud cancelled our flight, instead of joining cruise in Barcelona we enjoyed 3 full days in Rome.  Also our luggage was lost for the fist 3 days, sweeet!)

Now we are finally going to meet up with our cruise!

At the train station enjoying an Italian Espresso . . . mmmm.
We are one of the last ones to join our cruise . . . 2 days late!

Instead of going back into Rome, we just hung around the ship, took a siesta, had some drinks and just hung out.
We finally made it!

Dorky me

 Now it's time to EAT!

What?
My friend and me!

Yeah this is the dance floor . . . some of these cruises have an "older" crowd which makes for an interesting night life lol:-)

Time to go to sleep . . .
Next up: Pisa and Florence

BARRY BONDS' MISTRESS SPEAKS OUT ABOUT HIS STEROID USE

Barry Bonds is known as one of the greatest players in MLB History. Known for breaking the world record of home runs of 73 in a single year (2001), and the Major League Baseball home-run record of 762 in any baseball player's career by the time of his retirement in 2007.

Like with any great athlete, questions about extra supplements to help improve performance come into the picture. For many baseball players like Sammy Sosa, Jose Conseco, Mark McGuire, and Barry Bonds, assumptions about steroid use came into play. Not only are these baseball athletes well built, but to have records for home runs in one season and a noticeably larger muscular build truly raises some controversy.

Barry Bonds, despite critics, has denied using any illegal substance that was of his knowledge. Yesterday March 28, former mistress of Barry Bonds Kimberly Bell, testified in court saying that he did in fact use steroids, but not everyday, more in moderation. He also admitted to her that other players in the league used it as well for enhanced performance for their career.

Dating Barry Bonds for nine years, she confessed that his threatening elbow injury back in 1999 was due to his steroid use. Though he only mentioned using it once, Kimberly said she noticed changes such as temper problems (irritable and controlling), loss of hair (causing him to shave it off), acne on shoulders and back, sexual dysfunction, obvious muscle gain.

But questions from defense lawyer Cristina Arguedas tried to portray the mistress as a money hungry ex-lover who out of spite tried to profit from her broken relationship with Bonds by posing nude in Playboy and pitching a book called "In the Shadow of a Giant" about him. Despite many media interviews regarding her relationship with Bonds and his steroid use, Kimberly claims that she never received any money profiting from her interviews.

Whatever the situation turns out to be in Barry Bonds trial investigating his steroid use after lying under oath under the federal grand jury. He swears to only using products supplied by trainer that were supposedly flaxseed oil and arthritis balm.

So why did prosecutors try and get the mistress involved in this situation? Since being retired for almost four years, why is this case still relevant? I don't recall such an extended controversy regarding steroid use amongst a baseball player such as Barry Bonds. Despite players being ousted by Jose Conseco, you don't see trials going on today still trying to find out the facts. If people are really trying to dig up dirt about your past regarding some illegal enhance performance drug, then they really must have nothing else better to do. Leave the man be with his mistress(es), his adulterated marriage, and his records AND MOVE FORWARD!!!
