Recently, supermodel Candice Swanepoel came under media attention after appearing alarmingly skinnier than her usual healthy, curvy frame. At the Victoria's Secret new line of swimwear event this past Wednesday March 30, she looked so much skinnier than her fellow supermodels Alexandria Ambrosia and Adriana Lima.
Back in November 2010 for New York Fashion Week, she told ABCNews.com about her troubles with keeping weight on. "Actually, this year my problem has been more putting the weight on and getting muscle on because it's been really busy. I've been traveling around like crazy. I get skinnier if I'm very busy."
An insider says, "There is a really clear criteria for both Angels and the catalogue. Their career path is Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue then to Angel, it's the highest paying contract there is, period. The image is about being voluptuous, it's not fat, but it's curvy...But if you start to look skinny and 'editorial print-like' like fashion mag models, like undernourished, it gives the image the company does not want. Their shopper is older, their target is the Macy's shopper. These are young women who feel pressure these models, she [Swanepoel] could lose her contract if she gets too thin. But I'd be surprised if it went that far, she'll right herself first. Of course they'll talk to her though, the company is all about image."
Candice, being one of the main faces of Victoria's Secret caught my attention with her smoldering looks and voluptuous body. This 22 year old is the next big thing in the fashion world following steps of her fellow Angels who have branched out to representing other major fashion labels.
At the Victoria's Secret event Wednesday, Candice shared her secrets for keeping thin: "My diet. Stress and a lot of traveling kind of deals with that for me. I workout a lot, I box. I’m obsessed with it. It helps a lot with traveling to be strong and carry on with everything."
Whatever issues this South African beauty is going through at the moment, there is no doubt that she will definitely see the concern she has caused her peers, the public, and her Angels in order to get her body's natural curviness back on point. Candice Swanepoel is the hottest thing in the advertising world right now...she's amazingly beautiful and has a body to die for.
